In 1903, in the so-called Gründerzeit period, when a multitude of industrial enterprises were founded in Germany, a Hamelin architect erected the opulent upper middle class building "Wettorstrasse no. 15". Until 1910 a continuous row of houses was built, the façades of which have been preserved due to monument order, now giving evidence of the art nouveau era.
In 1993 the residence was painstakingly restored, modernized and rebuilt as a hotel.
Decorations and stucco techniques, which had been found in ceilings and at walls, were restored and reconstructed, some elements had to be added.
Windows leading to every single wooden step in the staircase were diligently restored true to every original detail.
This antique piece of art was brought to new life and shine. The owners' aim was to present and to open a romantic hotel to the public.
10th September 1993 a dream was realized when Bärbel and Ernst Deutsch opened the Hotel Jugendstil.
